Revive Your Skin at a Cellular Level

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are regenerative treatments made from a small sample of your own blood. These treatments have been used in medicine for years in areas like orthopedics and joint healing, and in aesthetic medicine they are commonly used to stimulate collagen and support tissue repair.

In aesthetics, the goal is often to stimulate your body to create more collagen to help thicken thin skin, improve areas like the under-eyes or indented nasolabial folds, and improve overall skin quality. They are also commonly used to support healthier hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles

Safety Focused

Because PRP/PRF does not contain hyaluronic acid or added filler material, there is no risk of filler migration, nodules, or product-related reactions

Our Process

The appointment is quick and typically takes around 30 minutes. Your ICU-trained RN will draw a small amount of blood, usually just one tube, which is often less than what is taken during routine lab work at a doctor’s office. The tube is then placed in a centrifuge in the office and spun for about 10 minutes to separate the healing components of the blood. After the spin cycle, the treatment is ready for immediate same-day reinjection.

Results build gradually and full results can take up to 12 weeks as your body produces new collagen. A series of treatments may be recommended depending on your goals.

PRP vs PRF vs PRF Gel

While PRP, PRF, and PRF gel all work by stimulating the body to produce collagen to help thicken thin skin, improve areas like the under-eyes or indented nasolabial folds, improve overall skin quality, and support healthier hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles, there are key differences to know so you can choose the treatment that makes the most sense for you.

PRP is an older generation platelet concentrate that is typically collected in tubes containing anticoagulants to prevent clotting during processing. These additives create a thinner liquid plasma, but they also prevent formation of the fibrin matrix found in PRF. Without that fibrin scaffold, growth factors are released more quickly and the regenerative signaling is generally less sustained. Because of that, PRP is largely considered outdated when PRF is an option. The main reason to still choose PRP is when a longer-working liquid is preferred during treatments such as microneedling, where preventing clotting can be useful.

PRF is a newer generation treatment processed without anticoagulants or additives. Because a natural fibrin matrix is able to form, growth factors are released more gradually over time, which can provide more sustained stimulation for collagen production and tissue repair. For those reasons, we primarily offer traditional liquid PRF for injectable treatments to improve skin quality, support under-eye rejuvenation, soften fine lines, and encourage hair restoration.

PRF gel is created by heating PRF to form an albumin gel. Because it is thicker and injected more slowly, appointments are typically longer than liquid PRF treatments. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler, PRF gel is not man-made and gradually breaks down in about 90 days. The gel structure can also slow the release of growth factors even more than liquid PRF, which may enhance regenerative results.

PRF gel is best for patients who would also benefit from temporary volume support in areas such as under-eye hollowing or deeper nasolabial folds. Under-eye hollowing can be especially challenging to treat because traditional hyaluronic acid filler is often not ideal in that area, and the main alternative is surgical fat grafting.

Not sure which option is right for you? You really can’t go wrong starting with liquid PRF injections. Then in 4 to 12 weeks, if you decide you’d like a more dramatic or immediate volume result, PRF gel can be a great next step. If you’d like to go straight to PRF gel, we recommend scheduling a virtual consultation first so we can make sure it’s the best fit for your goals.

Care Tips and Results

Because this treatment works by triggering your body’s natural healing response, we recommend avoiding things that unnecessarily reduce inflammation for the first 48 hours. This includes anti-inflammatories like Advil®, Benadryl®, and ice. We also recommend avoiding things that increase inflammation during the first 48 hours, including strenuous exercise and excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga.

To help reduce bruising risk, avoid alcohol and caffeine immediately before treatment and for the rest of the day after your appointment when possible.

Initial swelling is expected after injections and usually improves significantly within the first 3 days, but in some cases can take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve. Please keep this potential downtime in mind when booking your appointment online. Although bruising is not expected, it can happen anytime injections are performed and may also take up to 2 weeks to fully fade.

Unlike filler, results from liquid PRP/PRF improve gradually over time. While you may notice a temporary glow shortly after treatment, the true structural improvements in skin texture, thickness, and volume develop over the next 4 to 12 weeks as new collagen is formed. For the most transformative results, a series of treatments is often recommended.
